COURSE DESCRIPTION

Ceramic Restorations Excellence in the Digital Era

In this program, we will explore the ongoing transformation of restorative dentistry driven by the integration of digital technologies and advanced ceramic materials. We'll examine how high-performance ceramics such as zirconia and lithium disilicate are expanding the clinical possibilities of indirect restorations. These materials offer outstanding strength, biocompatibility, and esthetics, making them ideal choices for crowns, onlays, fixed dental prosthesis, and veneers.

A central focus will be proper decision making in material selection, tooth preparation guidelines, the digital workflow, particularly the use of CAD/CAM systems and well-trained team, restoration adjustment and proper cementation protocols. We will discuss how digital impressions, virtual design software, and milling technologies contribute to greater precision, efficiency, and predictability in restorative outcomes.

The role of same-day dentistry as a practical application of this digital-ceramic synergy will be highlighted as it eliminates the need for provisional restorations and reduces the number of patient visits. By the end of this course, you’ll have a deeper understanding of how to integrate these technologies and materials into clinical practice to optimize both functional and esthetic outcomes.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

Learning Objectives

01

Understand and evaluate case selection and preparation techniques for ceramic restorations, including indications, contraindications, and conservative tooth preparation strategies.

02

Assess and select appropriate ceramic materials based on clinical needs, esthetic goals, and functional requirements, with attention to material properties and bonding protocols.

03

Implement digital workflows effectively, including soft tissue management, intraoral scanning, restoration design, and milling using CAD/CAM technologies.
